One of the 2021 annual goals for Easter Seals is to increase family engagement, but what does this mean? The goal for Easter Seals is to increase interaction with families beyond the application processes for camp, equipment or scholarships.
From an Easter Seals perspective, there are three key questions:
- What information can we provide that would be helpful to parents and/or youth with physical disabilities?
- What is the best way to deliver information?
- How can we get your input on issues important to children and youth with physical disabilities and their families?
The first step taken by Easter Seals has been the development of a new Family E-News, provided in April and October 2021, with information that we thought would be relevant and of interest to families. The second was three Family E-Bulletins, which included brief updates and provided links to surveys. The three surveys included questions to inform Easter Seals advocacy activities on accessible parking permits and accessible education.
