Easter Seals Ontario offers funding for essential mobility and accessibility equipment for children and youth who are registered with our organization. For information on registration, please visit Register Your Child.
Easter Seals Ontario funds the following categories of equipment:
- Mobility Equipment*: Wheelchairs, walkers
- Communication Devices*: Assistive Devices Program (ADP) funded computers
- Orthotics*: Ankle foot orthotics (AFO), knee ankle foot orthotics (KAFO), standers
- Accessibility Equipment: lift systems, van lifts, ramps
- Bathing Toileting Equipment: bath lifts, commode chairs

Equipment we Fund
Easter Seals Ontario eligible items include:
- Porch Lifts
- Portable Ramps
- Building Materials for ramp ONLY
- Ceiling Track Lift system for bedroom and bathroom ONLY
- Portable Lifts
- Stair Lifts
Accessibility aid must be authorized by a health care professional and two quotes submitted with the application. The need for a second quote may be waived if there is only one equipment provider in the community.
Home accessibility Aids: All accessibility aids must be for the primary access into the home or to access the client’s primary bedroom or bathroom only. The equipment must meet Ontario Building Codes Non-structural renovations.
Please note: Only portable ramps are usually funded for rental properties. TRACK LIFTS may be funded if the application includes a letter from the Landlord stating that the client can install lift in rental unit.

Please note:
- Used van lifts must be provided through a recognized vendor. We do not fund private sales.
- All vans that are having a lift/ramp installed must be less than 5 years old.

- Shower Chairs
- Transfer Aids for the bathroom
All items must be authorized by a health care professional and two quotes are required. The need for a second quote may be waived if there is only one vendor for the equipment in the community.
Easter Seals Ontario eligible items are:
- Communication Board
- Computers
- Speech & Voice Aids
- Trays
The communication or writing aid must be authorized by a Ministry of Health Assistive Devices Program (ADP) approved communication clinic and funded by the ADP program. Easter Seals Ontario will fund up to $800/year for computer lease.
Easter Seals Ontario eligible mobility equipment includes:
- Wheelchairs: Manual or Power Wheelchair including Customized Seating Systems
- Batteries for new Electric (Power) Wheelchair
- Specialized Strollers (no accessories, i.e sun canopies, baskets)
- Walkers (excludes Hart or Smart Walkers)
- Scooter Devices
Item must be authorized by a health care professional and funded by the Ministry of Heath Assistive Devices Program (ADP).
Quote that supports the Equipment Funding Program application must include the total cost and the amount that will be funded by ADP.
Please note: Non ADP funded mobility devices are not eligible for funding (i.e back up manual wheelchairs, transport chairs, strollers, trikes, scooters)
Easter Seals Ontario eligible items include:
- Ankle foot orthosis (AFO)
- Knee ankle foot Orthosis (KAFO)
- Tone reducing ankle foot orthosis (TRAFO)
- Standers
Item must be authorized by a health care professional and funded by the Ministry of Heath Assistive Devices Program (ADP).
Quote that supports the Equipment Funding Program application must include the total cost and the amount that will be funded by ADP.
For Standers: Equipment Funding Program application must include:
- one quote for the cost of the item
- a copy of the ADP application form or
- a letter of support from the prescribing therapist stating date the ADP application was submitted to the Ministry of Heath.
Easter Seals Ontario operates summer recreational programs at Camp Merrywood and Camp Woodeden
Children and youth who are registered with Easter Seals Ontario may be eligible to attend camp programs and provided with funding towards the cost. For more information on the camping program please check www.eastersealscamps.org.
Please note that the funding provided for camp fees is not part of the annual $3000.00 for equipment funding maximum limit.
