Parent Surveys on the COVID-19 Experience
In the last few weeks, Easter Seals has been asked to share information on family surveys related to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The surveys have been shared from our social media accounts and, for convenience, shared below in this post.
Please note the deadlines for some of the surveys are at the end of June or in early July.
Statistics Canada – Deadline July 6
Statistics Canada is asking Canadians about the challenges of living with a long-term condition or disability during the COVID-19 pandemic, and how that has impacted employment, household expenses, and access to health services. University of Ottawa and other Ontario Universities – No Deadline Posted
Several Ontario Universities are conducting a study of the experiences of parents supporting children and youth with special educational needs at home during COVID-19. General information about the study, the survey, and interview sign-up can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.ca/r/KIDSHOME
CanChild Centre for Childhood Disability – No Deadline Posted

School Board Surveys
Many school boards are surveying families as they develop plans for the new school year. Links to two school board surveys are provided below. Please check the website of your child’s school board to see if they are also surveying parents.
Thames Valley District School Board – Deadline June 30
Thames Valley has launched an online survey to capture the concerns and expectations of families about the re-opening of schools in September. The survey is anonymous and takes 5-10 minutes to complete. Find the survey here: https://tvdsb.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1AqAvvYBFmDZo45
A second survey will be released in the coming weeks to gather family and student experiences with remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic to help plan for September.
Toronto District School Board – Deadline June 30
Students in Grades 7 to 12 and adult day students are invited to complete a short, anonymous survey about their well-being, experience in remote learning, and concerns and expectations. Find the survey here: https://tdsb.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cURWIJ5bs4DpMPz
The parent/guardian community is invited to share their families’ experiences with remote learning, feelings about returning to school, concerns and expectations about returning to school, you may and what supports they would like to see in place. University of Manitoba
